What is it like to work with me?

These are quotes from clients and supervisees.
I am honored and humbled by these comments and I appreciate these people’s willingness and permission to share their words here.

Bringing in Beth to lead meditation workshops has been one of the best things we have done in our community! Beth has such a calming presence and makes mediation accessible for all participants. She brings her sense of humor and acknowledges some of the common challenges people can feel about meditation and gives practical tips on working with and through those. The techniques we all learned from Beth are short enough to implement on a busy day but also lead into creating longer, sustainable habits. Some of the benefits of meditation are felt immediately and I cannot speak highly enough of Beth and her work!

When I finish a session with you, I feel like I just came out of a great yoga class. I’m more confident and I’m full of joy.

Beth, you are a wonderful combination of grounded and intuitive - both are qualities that are essential in therapy. It is clear you have a deep understanding of social work theory which you use through your intuition and heart. The therapy you provide is not an intellectual exercise but human to human communication that is well informed through sound psychological theory and practice and then reinforced with therapeutic use of your intuition. You're excellent at creating a safe space to explore all the possibilities of one's issues especially when they meet at the intersection of personal identity and cultural expectation. I would also like to add that you use intuition effectively by sharing it with proper timing and development. When you share the intuition, it is apparent that you have sensed the idea for much longer than the few moments it takes to express it. As I got to you know, I realize you approach life as a spiritual being having a human experience. This perspective makes one's struggles less personal and opens them up to being learning experiences.

When I think of your work, I think of a safe and sacred space to be vulnerable, to be with my emotions, and fully supported in that vulnerability.  When I think of you, I think of compassionate care, empathic presence, and a secure base to release and let go.  It's more than just talk therapy, its what you offer in that space, your warmth, your ability to relate, your willingness to create sanctuary that sets you apart from other therapists.
